Town Centre Mall was constructed in the late 1980’s as Nassau’s first enclosed two-level shopping center. It was built as a 305,000 -square foot building (864 feet by 160 feet) on roughly 10.65 acres of land in the hub of New Providence at the junction of Baillou Hill Road and the East-West Highway. The design provides for a parking deck allowing for 146 parking spaces upstairs and 116 spaces under covered parking. In addition, there are 357 spaces in normal lower level parking on the ground level. Of the available 619 spaces, BHRSC accounts for 390 or those spaces.

The upper level consists of 94,600 sf with 3 entry ways; one at either end and in the center. The lower level consists of 101,500 features one main entry way in the center and one entry to the north and two to the south. There is a centre court opening with approximately 6,900 square feet. The building has 4 Caterpillar #3508 diesel powered generators (800KW each), domestic well water supply, main electrical supply metering with sub meters for divisions. Waste water is pumped via a lift station into the yellow elder sewer system. A passenger elevator is in the center of the building and escalators are located on either end.

The building consists of pre-stressed concrete panels below a standing seam roof. The roof has been carefully maintained over the years allowing for minimal intrusions and is mostly covered in heat reflective covering and features a solar array which serves to reduces the consumption from BPL and has generated over $42,000 in electricity savings in 5 years.

In 1998, one-third of the building and site was leaved off to the owners of Furniture Plus as to facilitate their expansion. The parcel offered by BHRSC, Ltd is approximately 203,000 square feet remaining as expressed on the drawings. Both parties have separate Real Property assessments and electricity main meters.
