Bahamas Guide

Communities

Since the end of World War II the islands of the Bahamas have been an internationally recognized tourist destination. Vast improvements in technology, transportation and infrastructure have lured many to sow more permanent seeds in the archipelago. With so many islands and communities to choose from the Bahamas real estate experts at Island Living Ltd. have created the following top 20 list.

The criteria used in the ranking include; quality of neighbourhood (maturity, infrastructure, aesthetics, privacy); amenities; access to beach/docks; and proximity to medical and shopping facilities.

Here are the top 20 communities in the Bahamas to live in.

Developed in the 1950’s, Lyford Cay sets the standard for gated communities in the Bahamas. It is a magnificent private residential neighbourhood located on the most western tip of New Providence.
